Dr Moghal has a vast range of experience gained through his years as a Consultant at Oxford University Hospitals NHS trust, combined with his work in elite sports. He has worked in Premiership Football, with Southampton Football Club; CMO GB & England Hockey and is currently the Lead Physician for England Men’s Cricket Team. His expertise treating musculoskeletal conditions has taken him to major multi-sport events at the highest level of sport. He attended the Paralympic Games at London 2012 as polyclinic doctor and the Rio 2016 Games as GB Core Team Doctor for the Preparation Camp. Most recently, the Tokyo 2020 Games as the team doctor for the Men’s and Women’s GB Hockey Team.
Dr Moghal provides highly experienced advice for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions affecting patients of any age, different physical activity levels, acute and chronic injuries, and also elite and amateur athletes.
Research and teaching
Throughout his career Dr Moghal has enjoyed teaching juniors and other colleagues. He has been a clinical examiner for the University of Bath Master’s Degree in Sport & Exercise Medicine, as well as an Educational Supervisor on the Higher Specialist Training Scheme in Sport & Exercise Medicine in the Oxford Deanery.
In the last couple of years Dr Moghal has researched on the implications of COVID-19 illness on elite sports; additionally, he has studied the recovery time and prolonged impact of said illness on international athletes.
